Attention all AiTs, First5 GPs, Foundation Trainees and Medical Students!!

“Severn Faculty RCGP are pleased to announce that in collaboration with the Severn Deanery we are able to fund several bursaries to attend the RCGP annual conference”

The RCGP Annual Primary Care Conference is the must attend event of the year for GPs and practice team colleagues, showcasing the latest clinical and policy developments across the UK and brings together an impressive range of national and international speakers. This year’s theme is Progressive Primary Care, and the programme is packed with relevant seminars and workshops several of which are specifically for AiTs, First5 GPs and will be extremely informative to Foundation Trainees and Medical Students. The conference is also an invaluable opportunity to meet trainees and other GPs from across the UK, and good fun!

Conference details are available at the RCGP website

Register for the conference before 24 June to secure your place at the discounted earlybird rates

Bursary recipients will be prioritised to those submitting a poster or presentation, and the quality of the written submission. Applications should be received before 3 June 2013 (to take account of the earlybird discounts). The bursary will support Conference fees, travel and accommodation (but not incidental expenses) up to a maximum of £500 per individual

There will be an expectation that successful applicants will feed back their experiences to the Severn Faculty Board and to the Severn Deanery by way of a brief report and give a short talk at the Severn Faculty AGM which is held in the Autumn

The Faculty will notify applicants if their award was successful by 24 May 2013

Applications should include a written submission entitled “What role would you like both central College and the Severn Faculty RCGP to fulfil for you and your career?” (max 500 word summary), what grade of doctor/student/trainee you are (please include a brief CV- no longer than 1 page) and whether you intend to submit a poster or presentation. Written submissions will be judged on fluency, realism, practicality and innovation and conceptual thinking
