OOPE meeting with Africa Health Placements

  • FAO All ST1 trainees
  • Venue:  Cabot Meeting Room, Deanery Offices
  • Wednesday December 14th, commencing 13.30

 Dear colleague,

We have arranged a half day meeting with Africa Health Placements (AHP) who facilitate the recruitment of OOPEs from the London Deanery to work in South Africa. The advantage of working with AHP are that the placements are well supervised, all the paperwork is done for you & a small local salary is paid. One of our OOPEs has already done a successful placement with AHP and another OOPE is currently in KwaZulu/Natal with them.

We are inviting all our identified OOPEs from the ST1 and ST2 cohorts. In the spring we will be recruiting to fill another five places from our current ST1s, so we are notifying all of our ST1s about the meeting. We are inviting some of the senior staff from the SoPC and the deanery. We are also notifying all of our OOPEs who have returned in case they wish to contribute to the discussions. We also hope that the OOPE lead from the London Deanery will be able to join us.

We are planning to have a partnership with AHP so that we can help provide some continuity and sustainability. We have notified the patch HDR schemes so you should have no problem in attending. If you are planning to come please email Pauline Harper to reserve a place on the workshop.
